Easy Way to Get Rid of Headaches


Headaches can be a terrible condition for some people. And sometimes, medication is not convenient or doesn't provide significant relief. But we can find headache relief without medication through acupressure. This complementary technique uses pressure to stimulate pressure points, and these points help relieve headache. Massage one or more of these special points for few minutes, or until you feel relief.

Bai-Hui Point

Bai-Hui Point is located on the midline of the head. Draw an imaginary line between the middle of both ears to the top of our head, and then we can easily find this point at the summit of our body. In Chinese Bai-Hui means “Hundred Meetings”, this name refers to the idea that it is not only the meeting point of all the Yang channels of the upper body, but also use for treating “ hundred diseases”. As our body mind’s energetic core, Bai-Hui is an important pressure point that commonly relieves headaches, as well as dizziness and low energy.

【Steps】

Sit down comfortably; relax your muscles while breathing in and out in slow, deep breaths.

Place the tip of middle finger on the Bai-Hui points; rub till feel warm for up to 2 minutes.

Or use middle finger press on the point for 5 seconds while breathe out slowly. Repeat this for 5 times.

Or use palm rap tenderly Bai-hui Point for 10 times.

Acupressure can be repeated if necessary.

Tai-Yang Point

Tai-Yang Point is located on the temple, in the centre of the depression about 3.3cm posterior to the midpoint between the lateral end of the eyebrow and the outer canthus of the eye. Tai-Yang means Great Sun; this extraordinary point tends to be pressure-sensitive, especially with temporal headaches. People often get relief by using acupressure on this point.

【Steps】

Sit down or stand comfortably before the acupressure.

Use your thumbs: right thumb on right Tai-Yang, left thumb on left Tai-Yang, then move your thumbs in a tiny circular motion with very light contact for 10-20 times.

Or Rub your palms together till warm, paste your palms on the Tai-Yang Points, knead lightly for 10-20 times.

Tou-Wei Point

Tou-Wei Point is located at the corner of the forehead, on the border of the temporalis muscle and almost 2cm within the anterior hairline or 15cm lateral to the anterior midline. Chewing movements of the temporalis muscle will still be palpable here. Tou-Wei means Head’s Preserve, this point maintain the head work well by transfer positive energy. Tou-Wei is an important local point in the treatment of headache.

【Steps】

Sit down or stand comfortably before the acupressure, take a few full, deep breaths.

Use your thumbs: right thumb on right Tou-Wei, left thumb on left Tou-Wei, breathe out while press your thumbs on the point firmly for 1 second each time. Repeat for 10-20 times if necessary.
